I took a break from video games to work on actual world-building. Working as a staff artist my primary responsibilities include creating synthetic 3D assets, training ML models, and maintaining the primary digital models for our hero vehicles.
Our primary simulation engine is a custom version of Unreal Engine designed to run with our AV's AI/ML stack in simulated camera, lidar, and radar modalities. The actual work environment is primarily linux and extremely challenging.
I've worked with many aspects of the Cruise and General Motors team. This includes the in-car experience team, hardware design and implementation, synthetic data generation for ML models, internal tools, AV behavior, and sensor/perception modeling.
